Feyguard's Vengeance - Ashes Of Creation

For my third project during my internship at Intrepid Studios, I wanted to go through the pipeline of making a modular armor set and apply what I previously learned about working with cards. While this is a full cosmetic look it is still made in a way that it could work modularly, being divided into head, shoulders, forearms, shoulders, legs, waist and feet.
The most challenging part of this was filling the gaps left by the concept, such as the vagueness of some surfaces, and trusting myself through that process.
A lot of time was spent manually placing feathers and leaves that were baked into the low, as well as placing cards on top of that to achieve a more dynamic look.
Another new aspect of this was doing two gender versions by deforming the male set (which I started with knowing that stretched textures would be more obvious than slightly squished ones) to fit the female body. As with all assets I worked on I also did the skinning.
Overall I'm really happy with the result and learned a lot about the more technical aspects! Big thank you to the team at Intrepid Studios and to Chris Atkins in particular for showing me how to set up clothing physics in Unreal Engine. :)
